Four by Veronica Roth Review

Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth
source: Goodreads
"Fear doesn't shut you down...It wakes you up." - Four
Ever wonder how Four lived prior to meeting Tris? Now in Four: A Divergent Collection readers get to hear his story told strictly from his perspective.

After reading the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, I never thought I would get the opportunity to be transported back into this dystopian society. This time Four revealed his story of his struggles as an initiate leading up to the events in Divergent. I became completely absorbed into the book that I did not want it to end. It brought the thrilling feeling that I felt back when I first read the Divergent series. The author did wonder at telling Four's story and at the same time stay true to this amazing book series.

Four had faced many obstacles before he transfer to the Four, who readers adore. At an age of 16 years old, he made a choice that forever change him. I admired him for his determination to break away from his life in Abnegation and strive in Dauntless, where he faced his fears.

I was extremely happy once I arrived to when he met Tris. I miss reading about them. Although they stand strongly alone, when together they are better. Four and Tris shared similar traits, yet the ones they differ in, they bring the best out of each other.

Rating: 4/5

C-DRAMA REVIEW: When a Snail Falls in Love

When a Snail Falls in Love left me with quite a first impression that I ended up marathoning the whole series or the current episodes already released online. I kept telling myself “patience is a virtue” as I waited for the last two episodes of this crime thriller. Although I have been spoiled for the ending, I still waited for English subtitles because I wanted to see how it all ends.
Straight from the start, this drama intrigue viewers by its unique title, When a Snail Falls in Love, which simply draws us in. It’s a figurative saying; it’s not about an actual snail and lion. In this case, the snail is Xu Xu, who is clever when it comes to psychoanalyze a crime, but slow when it comes to love. Ji Bai is the lion in terms of his fierce and brave ability to pursuit crimes and love. Two polar opposites; yet they make a perfect crime solving duo.

DRAMA RECAPS: 7 First Kisses Episode 3 & 4

Previously on Seven First Kisses, fairy godmother Choi Ji Woo granted Soo Jin’s wish of getting her first kiss by allowing her to meet seven mysterious men with “kiss” number one given by Lee Joon Gi. Just right after the kiss, she came back to present time and met her handsome boss, Park Hae Jin aka potential kiss number2.
EPISODE 3:  Park Hae Jin  Due to her using her cell phone during work, her boss inquired her to work overtime with him. When she walked into his office, she expected there to be lots of works to be done; rather she ate dinner with him. He seeing it was already late said he will take her home.

FIRST & LAST IMPRESSIONS: Medical Examiner Dr. Qin (C-Drama)

I intentionally meant for this to be a first impressions post, but somehow it led to the lasting impressions and review of this crime action Chinese drama. The title of this drama was what initially drew me into watching it since I am a fan of the American television show, CSI (Crime Scene Investigators). As luck would have it this drama is very similar to CSI; yet different in its own ways. Similar in that the opening song sounds very much like the one for CSI with several different beats and it follows Qin Ming (played by Zhang Ruo Yun), a chief forensic investigator for the Chinese police as he solve crime cases. The different in that its very fast pace.
